The Djibouti regime intensifying its war against the civilian population.

FRUD condemns the despicable and cowardly attack by members of government forces on the night of 2 or 3 September 2016 against two drilling machine in Soublali (15 km Obock). This act is directed against the rural population of this area ( suspected of sympathies with FRUD), was planned in person by Ismaël Omar Guelleh, executed by his minion the Minister of Interior, is a response to the refusal by the Army to fight the FRUD and to die to save a regime in its death throes, denounced and rejected by the population.

The main protagonist Ismaïl Omar Guelleh regime objective is animated by an irrepressible desire to destroy these communities classified by him as enemy has a threefold facet:
- Prevent by all means the development of the northern and southwestern regions, considered an enemy territory;
-Maintaining the blockade of these regions by preventing humanitarian interventions of international NGOs;
- discredit the FRUD and smear his image, an organization that in 25 years of existence has never hurt a hair of civilians whose thoughtful behavior towards civilians is widely recognised and hailed by all observers .

This regime is not at his first attempt, we remember among many others the attack on the Kuwaiti NGO Al Rahma vehicle on the 24 June 2016 in Douloul (18 Km from Tadjourah) carried out by the Interior Ministry elements who desperately tried to put the blame on FRUD, as always with the aim to tarnish the reputation of this movement, now the only hope for change, for the Djiboutian people.
FRUD refuted vigorously Djibouti government allegations hinting that we would be responsible for the destruction of two drilling machines in Soublali.

We are accusing Ismail Omar Guelleh regime of being behind these two drilling machine destruction to thirsty for the population that refuses to cooperate with him. One can expect from him other destructive actions because the army is refusing to fight FRUD just to preserve the colossal wealth of IOG and his family.

FRUD condemns 2 cameleers extra-extrajudicial killing in Moussa Ali surroundings: namely Houmed Kamil Ali Mohamed and Mohamed Oumar;
Brutally tortured before being shot by soldiers who fled the fighting of August 16, which opposed them to the FRUD in Margoïta. Within the military, there is a death squad made up of soldiers chosen for their loyalty to the President who torture, kill Afar civilians and rape Afar women. Several of them have been already identified and they and their sponsors will respond sooner or later for their war crimes.

The barbarity of this regime has no boundaries: the blood of innocents massacred in Buldhuquo on December 21, 2015 has not yet dried up and 25 years after the massacre of Arhiba, there is still a total impunity, hardly any acknowledgement of these crimes against humanity.

In addition, we have just learned that the Lake Assal civilian population and Obock surroundings are victims of diarrhea and vomiting of unknown origin; soldiers are suspected of having poisoned the water wells which are water supply points for the nomads and pastures.
FRUD condemns:
- Use of torture as a permanent repression practice system for 39 years;
- The death under torture of two innocent civilians Houmad Ismael and Mohamed Abdo Momin, on February 14, 2016, at the Tadjourah Gendarmerie station;
- Arbitrary arrests of civilians suspected of supporting, sympathy or have relatives serving in the FRUD, political activists and members of civil society;
- The rape of women by soldiers with impunity especially in Margoïta triangle Syarou, Garabtissan, and in Mablas and Goda, condemned for the first time by the European Parliament on May 12, 2016.
In addition, 13 people are currently detained in Gabode prison accused of sympathy with the FRUD, including the most iconic political prisoner Mohamed Ahmed Jabha (detained since May 2010).

FRUD appeal to the Djiboutian population in political stalemate, to support FRUD multifaceted strategy, including support to its fighters years self-sacrifice to bring about change in our country, to remove the calamity represented by Ismaël Omar Guelleh and his cliques.

The FRUD as a popular movement will participate fully in safeguarding people security and calls on international aid organizations not to support the blockade imposed by the Djibouti regime against the North and South-West of the country;
FRUD calls on neighbouring states, particularly Ethiopia (who has just signed recently a security agreement with Djibouti), and those militarily present in our country not to interfere in Djibouti internal conflict and to observe a strict neutrality.
