Ahmed Ali Harsa is a Djiboutian Afar self employed export/import lorry driver between Djibouti and Ethiopia. He was arrested and sent to jail 16 months ago in Ethiopia. He has not been charged or appeared in a Court of Law in Ethiopia. The 25th August 2016 was his 580 day in detention.

He is his family's sole breadwinner ( a wife and 10 children ). His wife and his 10 children are destitute and live in dire situation since his arrest.

We all know that Ahmed Ali Harsa is languishing in Ethiopian prisons unjustly. His only crime is to have wanted to make a decent living to meet its needs and that of his family (a wife and ten children). The two mafia RPP in Djibouti and TPLF in Ethiopia are behind his incarceration for a villainous reason.

The ethnic clientelism that is at the source of Oromo and Amharas discontents and protests in Ethiopia against the TPLF dominated regime is at the heart of his problems.
Djibouti Issa regime is TPLF proxy in Republic of Djibouti. They have cloned the TPLF system of one Party, one ethnic group rule. They monopolise all sector of the economy for the benefit of the few. In both countries the Issas in Djibouti with the RPP apparatchik and Tigray ( TPLF ) in Ethiopia do not tolerate competition from other ethnic groups.

For them a competition or even any leaning of others ethnic group towards economic emancipation is seen as act of aggression and must be crushed . Other communities must remain in economic depravation to exercise their domination.

The Djiboutian authorities and Ethiopians authorities are at connivance in the arrest of my compatriot Ahmed Ali Harsa. There is nothing fortuitous in its incarceration.
Recently Issa led Djiboutian government forces arrested and repressed Ethiopian from Oromo and Amharas living in Djibouti to support TPLF crackdown in Djibouti. We the Djiboutian Afar condemn with the strongest terms these abhorrent arrest and repression against peaceful law abiding Oromo and Amharas in Djibouti and in Ethiopia.

The Djibouti Government is not going to lift a thumb to help. Issa led Djibouti Government is leading an Apartheid policy against Afar people in Djibouti since its independence on 27th June 1977 ( 39 years ). An Afar who wants to rise economically is dangerous for Ismail Omar Guelle Issa led Government. So he must languishes in Ethiopian prisons to deter any other Afar following in his footsteps.

I am leading with loubakdongolo.com site a campaign for Ahmed Ali Harsa's release. A Djiboutian Afar unjustly detained in Ethiopian jails. His only crime to date is the audacity the fend for himself, wife and 10 children. He is asthmatic and his health has deteriorated in TPLF regime jails.

I am calling on my Ethiopian brothers and sisters trans-national solidarity to bring about his release. As you are aware Loubak Dongolo support Oromo and Amharas protest for freedom and justice in Ethiopia and by extension in Djibouti.

My message to TPLF dominated government is to free and compensate Ahmed Ali Harsa for the unlawful detention and privation of his freedom.

The message is bring back Ethiopia from chaos and destructive path you have set with your discriminatory and authoritarian policies. You must restore democracy, rule of law and equality in Ethiopia and Djibouti. You must listen to the legitimate grievance of the Ethiopian people. Reason has to prevail before it get out of your hands.
